Overview

A candidate screening application used in Byte Advisory’s own interview process: resume intake, an untimed HR questionnaire, and a ten-minute timed cognitive assessment, with an authenticated back office where the hiring team reviews submissions and scores.

The problem

Screening candidates on resumes alone was producing interviews that should not have happened. We needed a consistent signal before anyone spent time on a call.

What we did

1. Built the funnel as four discrete steps so candidates always know how much is left.
2. Kept the cognitive section to ten minutes, timed and single-sitting, covering logical, numerical, verbal and pattern reasoning.
3. Gated the admin surface behind real authentication, since it holds resumes and scores.
