The whole restaurant service on one screen

A demonstration build. The business, its people and its figures are invented — no real customer records are involved.

Before you open it

  1. Mesa is a demonstration build, produced by Byte Advisory to show how we design and ship software in this sector.
  2. The business it depicts, its staff and every figure in it are invented. No real customer, patient or financial records are involved.
  3. It is open to walk through in full. Anything you change is expected and resets on a schedule.
  4. Nothing in it is an offer, a quotation or a commitment.

Overview

Front-of-house operations for restaurants and hospitality groups. Reservations, live table status, guest history and tonight’s numbers in one place, with role-scoped access for owners, managers and hosts.

The problem

Service software fails when it asks staff to switch systems mid-shift. A host taking a walk-in should not need three screens to know whether a table is turning.

What we did

  1. Designed around the shift, not the database — the default view answers what a host needs at the door.
  2. Enforced role scoping in middleware rather than the UI, so a manager route is genuinely unreachable for a host.
  3. Carried guest preferences and allergies into the reservation itself, where they get read.
  4. Opened the demo to all three roles so the product can be evaluated without a sales call.

Delivered

  • Live floor with per-table status
  • Reservation management
  • Guest history with preferences and allergies
  • Covers, turns and no-show reporting
  • Three-tier role-based access control
