- $2.6M Seed raise packaged
- $3.3B Bottom-up TAM modelled (three-state market)
Overview
Hail is a rideshare platform built on a bidding model — drivers pay a flat subscription and bid on rides rather than surrendering a commission. We ran all seven workstreams from business architecture through to launch. Both the rider and driver apps are live on the App Store.
The problem
The founders had operational experience and an app that did not yet work, with no business plan, no financial model and no credible market sizing to raise against.
What we did
- Ran a gap assessment across the current product, the business plan and the technology before proposing a target state.
- Built the market model bottom-up from trip volumes, driver counts and average fares across three states rather than top-down from an industry report.
- Benchmarked unit economics against public revenue-per-active-rider figures from the incumbents.
- Defined the minimum product required to launch, then took the app from a current-state code review to a working beta.
Delivered
- Business plan and operating model
- Bottom-up market model across three states
- Five-year financial model with debt and equity structure
- Investor pitch deck and investor target list
- Alpha and beta product with testing plans
- Rider and driver iOS apps, shipped
- Roll-out and marketing strategy
Outcome
Both apps shipped to the App Store, and the client went to market with a complete raise package: a $2.6M seed target supported by a defensible three-state model.
